2008 Season - Week 6

Trading Day 1

32 players came and went as owners got serious with those underperforming NFL players. In all 14 owners made changes to their teams with Marcus changing half his team! 7 owners were present and 2 were online. Thanks to Andy H who handled Daz’s change and Johnny who looked after George’s. Instant analysis shows that Mark B was the biggest winner with his additions outscoring his cuts by 25 points (his old kicker is still injured while his new one scored 16). Table topping David S was the biggest loser (minus 11) as his old kicker outscored his new one 9-4. Most Popular/Unpopular teams Unsurprisingly New England proved the most unpopular team as 4 people jumped off the bandwagon cutting Bill Belicheat, Tom Brady, Randy Moss and Ben Watson. Jacksonville lost 3 (Jack Del Rio, David Garrard and Reggie Williams). The only player from Baltimore on a BUMS roster (Derrick Mason) was also cut as the Ravens become the only team to have no BUMS representation. On the other side of the street Denver added 3 players (actually 4:- Matt Prater, Jay Cutler, Eddie Royal and Tony Scheffler, but they lost Selvin Young). Denver now have 7 players on BUMS rosters, but are not the most popular, Dallas added 2 (Wade Phillips and Miles Austin) and now have 8 players represented. Cuts by draft round It doesn’t matter which round you are selected in you can still be cut. It’s good to see that owners aren’t stubborn if they realise they’ve made a first round gaff. 4 players taken in the first round of the draft last month got their marching orders:- Aaron understandably cutting number 1 pick Tom Brady (IR), Marcus cutting number 4 pick Randy Moss, Cheryl cut Nate Burleson (IR) and Mark B Bill Belicheat. 3 second rounders, 2 third, 8 fourth, 5 fifth and 8 sixth rounders were cut. 2 Franchise players also faced the chop as Gareth cut second year franchise QB Vince Young and Wayne first year franchise RB Selvin Young. BUMS on Seats. We are at Mark’s on Sunday for the Sky doubleheader as Buffalo entertain San Diego followed by Indianapolis at Carolina. On Monday evening 6:30pm we’ll be at HQ to see Seattle @ Tampa and on Tuesday we’ll be at Johnny’s from 6:30pm for Denver @ New England. As always all are welcome, give us a call if you intend to visit.
